I have managed to move between a number of countries for study and research. I obtained my BSc (Hons) degree in Fisheries Science and MSc degree in Fish Genetics & Biotechnology from Khulna University, Bangladesh. With an Erasmus Mundus Fellowship from European Union, I then obtained a joint MSc degree from the University of Bordeaux (France), University of the Basque Country (Spain), University of Liege (Belgium) and Concordia University (Canada) with a research focus on Phenotypic Plasticity from Dr. Dylan Fraser Lab. I completed my PhD in Marine Biology in the Dr. Ian Fleming Lab at Memorial University of Newfoundland (Canada) with a research focus on Species Interaction (ecological & genetic) and Coexistence. I then worked as a post-doctoral researcher at University of Windsor under the supervision of Drs. Daniel Heath (University of Windsor) and Ken Jeffries (University of Manitoba), where I led a research focusing on Genomic Basis of Physiological Adaptation. Currently, I am working as a postdoc in the Genomic Variation lab in the Department of Animal Science at University of California Davis and leading a synergistic project on developing molecular tools to monitor animal of conservation concerns, with an emphasis on using eDNA/eRNA and eDNA metabarcoding to infer abundance.
