I have managed to move between a number of countries for study and research. I obtained my BSc (Hons) degree in Fisheries Science and MSc degree in Fish Genetics & Biotechnology from Khulna University, Bangladesh. With the support of an Erasmus Mundus Fellowship from the European Union, I then obtained a joint MSc degree from the University of Bordeaux (France), University of the Basque Country (Spain), University of Liege (Belgium) and Concordia University (Canada), where my research focused on Phenotypic Plasticity in Dr. Dylan Fraser Lab. I completed my PhD in Marine Biology in Dr. Ian Fleming's Lab at Memorial University of Newfoundland (Canada), with a research focus on Species Interaction (ecological & genetic) and Coexistence. Following that, I worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Windsor under the supervision of Drs. Daniel Heath (University of Windsor) and Ken Jeffries (University of Manitoba), where I led a research project on Genomic Basis of Physiological Adaptation. Currently, with the support of Delta Science Fellowship from the California Sea Grant, I am working as a postdoctoral research fellow in the Genomic Variation lab in the Department of Animal Science at the University of California, Davis, where I am leading a collaborative project to develop molecular tools for monitoring animals of conservation concern, with an emphasis on using environmental DNA (eDNA) to infer abundance, and environmental RNA (eRNA) to assess physiological status.
