I have managed to move between a number of countries for study and research. I obtained my BSc (Hons) degree in Fisheries Science and MSc degree in Fish Genetics & Biotechnology from Khulna University, Bangladesh. With the support of an Erasmus Mundus Fellowship from the European Union, I then obtained a joint MSc degree  from the University of Bordeaux (France), University of the Basque Country (Spain), University of Liege (Belgium) and Concordia University (Canada), where my research focused on phenotypic plasticity in the Dr. Dylan Fraser Lab. I completed my PhD in Marine Biology in the  Dr. Ian Fleming's Lab at Memorial University of Newfoundland (Canada), with a research focus on the cause and consequences of hybridization between domesticated and wild Atlantic salmon. Following that, as a Mitacs postdoctoral fellow at the University of Windsor under the supervision of Drs. Daniel Heath (University of Windsor) and Ken Jeffries (University of Manitoba), I explored the genomic basis of physiological responses to environmental stressors in Canadian freshwater fishes. With the support of Delta Science Fellowship from the California Sea Grant, I then worked as a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Animal Science at the University of California, Davis, where my research focused on developing and validating non-invasive eDNA genomic tools for monitoring and eRNA tools for establishing the proof-of-concept of early detection of threatened Delta and endangered Longfin Smelt.
